Serving Those Who Served Since 1946
American Legion Post 560 has stood at the heart of Houston's veteran community for eight decades: a place built on service, strengthened by camaraderie, and united by patriotism.
Houston, We Have a Mission
American Legion Post 560 serves veterans, military families, and Space City. We advocate for those who served, provide programs that matter and preserve the legacy of American service members for generations to come.
Veterans First
Every program, every dollar, and every effort begins with our commitment to the men and women who served.
Community Roots
We are woven into the fabric of Houston: supporting local families, schools, and neighbors since 1946.
Duty · Honor · Service
We uphold the highest standards of character, reflecting the values of those who wore the uniform.
Lasting Legacy
Veterans Legacy Plaza, Walk of Honor, 35th CASI Annual Chili Cookoff and more ensures no service member is ever forgotten.
80 Years of Service
Founded in 1946 by veterans returning from World War II, Post 560 was built on a simple promise: to look after one another and give back to the community that welcomed them home. Over the decades, our post has grown into one of most active American Legion chapters in Texas: hosting hundreds of community events, awarding thousands of dollars in scholarships, and advocating tirelessly for veterans' rights and benefits.
